Bitcoin Meetup Growth Rankings Dec 19th

Meetup Growth Summary December 2015
Power Ranking for Nov 20th – Dec 19th 2015
I’m a day late posting this month sorry. There are 11 months of data to summarize now so next month will be the end of the first year. Every month adds more clarity and shows us which meetups are doing the best work and attracting new members. We can’t say anything about the quality of events they hold, but maybe next year I will look at attendance at all the meetup events as well.
Here is the link to the spreadsheet on Google docs: (the filtered tab is probably the easiest to view, set the date at the top and sort by growth % Z→A for best view)
There are 41 groups on the list however 4 have been removed for inactivity. This month saw mainly the regular top meetups grow quickly again and a couple surprises as well. Bangalore India Bitcoin Meetup held top spot from last month adding 85 new members for 8.72% growth, this was after adding 118 members last month. Bitcoin New Hampshire was 2nd with 7.25% growth and Seoul Bitcoin Meetup came in 3rd with 6.20% growth thanks in part to the Inside Bitcoin Conference held in Seoul earlier this month. Mentions go out to Israel Bitcoin Meetup for passing 2000 members this month and Bangalore India Bitcoin Meetup for passing 1000 members.
The largest move up the rankings was by one of the smallest group, Bitcoin New Hampshire, going all the way from 35th to 2nd. As a side note, I am only going to be adding groups to the list who have more than 300 members from now on. Another big move up was from Bitcoin Hong Kong recovering from last months 29th place finish to end up 9th this month. Nice work. Other improvements came from Free State Bitcoin Consortium from 31st up to 8th, Bitcoin Meetup Switzerland up to 7th spot from 17th last month. Barcelona Bitcoin Community came storming back, up from 25th to 6th place and finally Seoul Bitcoin Meetup moving up from 10th into 3rd spot.
A lot of moves up also means a lot of fails for others, Bitcoin London fell out of the top 10 from 6th to 16th, and Bitcoin Stockholm fell to dead last with no new members last month. Bitcoin Munich also fell from 4th spot all the way to 25th. Other groups to drop lower were Portland, Argentina and Austin Texas.
If you would like your meetup added to the list just ask. Good luck to all you meetup organizers this month. If you have any big events coming up post them below. I also post this to bitcointalk and the Bitcoin forum on
Based on growth percentage this month, here are the Power Rankings top 10 meetups

Meetup Power Rankings & Growth Stats (Updated Nov 19th)

Meetup Growth Summary November 2015
Power Ranking for Oct 20th – Nov 19th 2015
I try to add something new to the document every month. This month I reviewed some of the meetups meeting frequencies and discovered the meetups that aren’t growing actually aren’t active. So if a meetup group hasn't been active for more than 6 months they have been removed from this month’s stats. 4 meetups met this fate. The good news is there are 8 new groups on the list for a total of 41 groups!
Here is the link to the spreadsheet on Google docs: (the filtered tab is probably the easiest to view, set the date at the top and sort by growth % Z→A for best view)
This month one of the new additions to the list, the Bangalore India Bitcoin Meetup, took top stop with an impressive 118 new members and 13.77% growth. This is the second highest number of new members in a 1 month period, the record is shared at 119 between BitcoinNYC in February and San Francisco Bitcoin Meetup in July. 13.77% is also third in terms of percentage growth in a month behind Paris Bitcoin Meetup 15.94% in July, and Seoul Bitcoin Meetup 14.83% in February. This month European meetups did especially well Paris Bitcoin Meetup taking second 8.85% growth and 93 new members and Bitcoin Wednesday Amsterdam in third 7.53% and 83 new members. Those two meetups actually switch positions from last month. 4th place is also worth mentioning Bitcoin Munich was 6.99% growth and 23 new members.
A lot of meetups coming up to big membership milestones next month I think.
As always there were some big moves up the rankings and big moves down. Because of all the new groups coming in around the middle spots not many meetups jumped up the ranks. On the winning side Israel Bitcoin Meetup bounced back from 23rd spot up to 11th, and Bitcoin San Fran making a small move from 25th to 20th.
The losers this month are also distorted by all the new groups entering the rankings so I can’t really say too many bad things about them, however I have to say that Barcelona Bitcoin meetup fell from number 1 spot last month all the way to 25th spot this month. The held zero, 0, events in the last month and I think this is a major factor in growth. Holding no events slows growth considerably. Losers get off easy this month.
If you would like your meetup added to the list just ask. Good luck to all you meetup organizers this month. If you have any big events coming up post them below. I also post this to the new Bitcoin forum on

Hiya folks! Hope the shelter-at-home is treating you well. As you might know that the super cyclone Amphan struck Eastern India and Bangladesh day before yesterday. As a result, I went into radio silence for two days. Now that I am back in the grid (albeit with ultra-super slow internet; this post took 4+ hours of retries just to upload pictures), let’s get rolling with the weekly update catch-up series again. Here’s your week at Parachute + partners (17 Apr - 23 Apr'20):

24 cryptocurrencies are now live on ParJar for trading with fiat in Europe, India and UK. This is massive! The new ParJar and #cryptoforeveryone masks look great Clinton! Designers in Parachute, Clinton is looking for fresh original designs for merchandise in the Parachute Shop. You can bag some cool $PAR and discount codes if your art makes it to the store. The #par4par raffle currently has a 500k $PAR prize pool. If you have 10k $PAR in your ParJar, you can claim a ticket. Get in on it! Foo hosted a Parena so that winners can get a taste of the raffle with their prize $PAR. Bose hosted a random TTR trivia this week for a 10k $PAR prize pot. Charlotte’s Tuesday TTR trivia was fun as always. Victor hosted an animal-themed trivia for 1k $PAR in prize per question. Two-for-Tuesday continued with the ongoing series of letters. This week Gian got Parachuters to post music "featuring bands or artists whose name starts with the letters M, N, O or P". As always, super thankful for the playlist Sebastian! 136 music videos in total. Dang! Jason’s #wholesomewed prompt involved Parachuters sharing unconventional art pieces. "They can be made by you or someone else".

SelfKey’s R&D team shared a 2020 update on the identity management space and how the project aims to place itself in this segment.
Early preview of the SelfKey Mobile Wallet to be submitted to App Store for review

Attendees of VeneCoiners meetup in Argentina next week, don’t forget to say Hi to the crew from Wibson who will be presenting the Rewards Marketplace at the event. The team also published a paper on “WibsonTree” which preserves data privacy when interacting with an agent. They hosted an Ethereum meetup this week to discuss DeFi. Here’s a video demo of how fast the Harmony mainnet is. The weekly #pow tweet thread summarises updates from across the team. KuCoin’s $ONE token swap is now complete. A new page was launched to monitor mainnet and testnet status. The crew attended a Binance meetup in Ukraine to talk about latest project updates. Harmony announced a partnership with IBC Media to incubate and accelerate Indian fintech startups. Safe Haven’s digital inheritance solution, Inheriti, will be available on the Harmony chain. $ONE was listed on MathWallet. Intellishare co-founder Nicholas Wan shared a sneak peek of the testnet mobile UI. dGen listed GET Protocol’s GUTS Tickets as one of the notable startups in the Dutch blockchain space in their Blockchain in Europe 2020 Review report. For a project overview click here – nicely summarised by Generation Crypto. GUTS will be ticketing 3 new shows of Chef’Special. Global Crypto Alliance live streamed another demo of its IoT prototype smartlock device being operated through $CALL tokens. The team also hosted a fun quiz on their Telegram this week. YouTuber Crypto Rich interviewed the crew on all things $CALL (Part I, Part II). Nik Patel’s detailed research report on COTI was published this week. $COTI was added to the Staking Rewards platform. And here’s a biggie, Binance listed both the ERC20 and BEP2 versions of the token this week with a bonus airdrop for deposits. Woot! Before the listing frenzy started, the team took a moment to take stock of the situation. A big listing like Binance leads to a lot of new eyeballs that could trigger scams. COTI crew shared their anti-scam guide for this reason. DOMSCRYPTO covered the project in their latest video. DoYourTip was covered in an iHODL news feature.

And with that, we close for this week at Parachute. See you again with another update. Ciao!

Taking Colin's vision forward -- Nano meetups in developing countries.

Hello all!
Yes, looking at the price hurts, but Nano's future is bright. We need to come together as a community and make Nano adoption our priority.
I got involved with Nano during the XRB days and have been a fan since. Lately, I have been reading so much about Nano team's marketing efforts falling short of the community's expectations. If I remember the early days of Bitcoin correctly, it was the community that did the marketing for Bitcoin. There was no 'marketing team' for Bitcoin. That being said, at present, there is no better crypto community than Nano whether it be on Reddit, Telegram, of Discord.
After reading Colin's statement last week, I realized I can do my bit to help Nano reach more people in my country. I have been organizing Bitcoin meetups in New Delhi, India for the past 4 years or so. Last year, I changed its name to Blockchain Meetups (Everything Blockchain from Everything Bitcoin) because I didn't want to focus the meetups only on Bitcoin.
My meetup group ( has close to 2500 crypto enthusiasts. Every meetup I organize attracts around 60-80 people. Last year, I partnered with Cointelegraph and hosted India's biggest crypto meetup at that time which attracted close to 250 people.
I want this Nano meetup to be even bigger! I'm in touch with a few places to finalize the venue for the meetup. And if we can attract a decent crowd, I'd be thrilled if any of the Nano team members (if not Colin) could fly to New Delhi to give a talk on Nano and participate in a panel discussion.
Here are some ideas I have come up with to spread the word: 1. Nano giveaway in real time. (As in asking guests to download Natrium wallet and we transfer some Nano to each wallet) 2. Stickers give away 3. Promotion on rollups and banners 4. Presentation on Nano's journey so far and future plans
I am of course open to more suggestions. I will also be inviting members of other blockchain startups as partners and sponsors of the event, but Nano will take the center stage. We can perhaps call it 'Nano Meetup India', just like the UK one?
I'd love the support and suggestions from the Nano team and the community to take this forward.

Taking Colin's vision forward: As promised, the meetup in New Delhi is now live in partnership with Nano Foundation and Kappture Labs. Please support!

Hello everyone, it's time for Nano to shine in India. A couple of months ago, Colin suggested the real use case of Nano lies in the developing nations of the world. Since I have been organizing Bitcoin/Blockchain in Delhi for the past 4 years. It only made sense for me to organize one that focused most on Nano! Soon after I made a post here about doing exactly that in India and it was very well received by you all.
The good news is that the event is finally live and people can start booking their tickets here:
But the bad news is that I have no sponsors for the meetup. One of the two companies in the sponsorship section is mine and the other one is my friend's, who is also coming as a speaker. Without the money, it's hard to organize the event, let alone print Nano shirts and distribute them to the audience (which was the plan).
This is why I need support from the community. If you have blockchain startup or use Nano on your website or you'd like to speak at the event (you don't have to be there physically, we can always live stream), consider sponsoring this event.
If you'd just like to support by donating, go to the bottom of the website:
Thank you! :)
PS: If you print shirts, mugs, stickers for Nano, please DM me.
