Hello Reddit!
Portraits of a Mind is a global art project to decentralise the founding code behind Bitcoin into 40 fragments. The largest work of art in blockchain history, the work runs to 50 meters in length and forms an entire physical transcription of the 12.8 million digits of code that Satoshi compiled on his laptops over 11 years ago.
The Collectors of the project and Robert Alice will be donating $21 for every question answered, split between CoinCenter and Social Alpha Foundation.
SO ASK ME ANYTHING ABOUT THE MAKING OF THE PROJECT......and lets raise some money!
The first 20 works were decentralised privately to 14 cities across 3 continents, acquired by some of the most important people in the space, from CZ to Matt Roszak. From San Francisco to Tokyo, the global spread of the works stands testament to you - the crypto community and its globalised nature.
On Wednesday, in just 48 hours time, BLOCK 21 from Portraits of a Mind will make history as the first artwork and NFT of our culture to be sold at Christie's New York. Just eleven years on from its inception, Satoshi's codebase currently hangs alongside masterpieces by Picasso, Cezanne, Rothko, Jackson Pollock and Warhol.
It is a major moment for our culture on the global stage and a moment to reflect on how deeply this codebase has ingrained itself into contemporary society in such a short space of time.

After Robinhood Suicide, Crypto Exchanges Must Stop Acting Like Casinos: bitFlyer Exec - CoinDesk

Many exchanges were designed to encourage users to trade as frequently as possible, often with money they don’t have, and resembled casinos more than responsible trading platforms, said Joel Edgerton, chief operating officer at bitFlyer U.S.
“There are too many exchanges that are run like casinos and exploit their customers,” he said.
Edgerton spoke to CoinDesk just over a week after a 20-year-old student, Alexander Kearns, killed himself after falsely believing he had got himself into more than $700,000-worth of debt by trading complex options contracts on Robinhood – an app-based trading platform with a young, retail-oriented following.
It later came to light that the negative balance was a temporary phase in between contract execution – i.e. Kearns wasn’t actually in the red. But Robinhood has come under heavy criticism for allowing amateur traders to access such complex instruments without safeguards to avoid confusion and, in this case, tragedy.
Late last week, Robinhood announced a $250,000 donation to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and vowed to add safeguards to its platform, such as tightening eligibility requirements for complex options trades.

While Binance’s CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao said in response last week that his exchange already implemented a “Responsible Trading” feature, Edgerton, a former head of operations at the insurance arm of French bank BNP Paribas, said the exchange was trying to shield itself from further criticism.
“I would say CZ’s response was mercenary. He is using a kid’s death to pitch his company and Binance is actually part of the problem,” he explained. The platform gets users hooked and their anti-addiction policy “highlights the fact that they built the product to be addictive,” he said.
Any crypto exchange that offered 125x leverage indiscriminately – which Binance began offering in October – isn’t serious about customer protection, Edgerton continued. BitFlyer, which opened a U.S. office in 2017, says it already restricts access to leverage and can flag or even ban users that display troubling trading patterns. The Tokyo-based exchange ranks ninth globally, according to CoinGecko, and is the market leader in Japan.
It was reported last summer a Chinese bitcoin trader killed himself after a 100x position on derivatives exchange BitMEX was liquidated, a loss of about $16.4 million in a single trade. Around the same time, an anonymous student trader said he was having suicidal thoughts after losing thousands of dollars on several leveraged trades on the same platform.
Arthur Hayes, BitMEX’s CEO, has previously defended his business, arguing that in a free market, customers can always move onto other platforms if they worry about being exploited or defrauded.
When contacted by CoinDesk, Binance declined to comment. BitMEX hadn’t responded to a similar request by press time.

Cryptocurrency exchanges have more of a role to play in customer protection, Edgerton said. Regulators worldwide cap leverage for retail investors, both in crypto and in traditional assets, such as equities. Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) halved maximum leverage down to two times the value of the deposit this year.
As such, there’s no reason an exchange should offer 100x leverage on top of highly volatile assets without first checking whether the investor knows what they are doing and that they have the income to cover that level of exposure, argued Edgerton.
“We have a responsibility to provide products that are suitable to our clients,” he added. The Robinhood suicide “is what happens when companies focus on tech and profits rather than doing the right thing for their customers.”

Binance Jersey: Everything You Need To Know

Sign-up for Binance Jersey Fiat Exchange
At this time, the digital currency exchange market is filled with a wide variety of choices, therefore choosing the right exchange or trading platform can be quite a headache for both novice and veteran cryptocurrency users.
Binance is a popular cryptocurrency exchange which was started in China but recently moved their headquarters to the crypto-friendly Island of Malta in the EU. Binance is popular for its crypto to crypto exchange services. While the company is still fairly new on the market ( it launched last year ), it has managed to gain a lot of popularity thanks to its impressive number of Initial Coin Offering listings, professional attitude and friendly CEO and also due to its low trading fees.
Binance Website
In our review, we will attempt to outline everything that you must know about Binance, including how it works, the crypto pairs that you can exchange, trading fees/limits, security aspects, and customer support.
Visit Binance »
How the Exchange Works Contents [Show]
Those who visit Binance for the first time will quickly notice that the platform offers two options for digital currency trading- basic and advanced. Neither the basic, nor the advanced versions are bound to be easy to use for complete beginners. However, anyone with a background in digital currencies and with a bit of knowledge into how exchanges work should be able to use the platform and its different services.
The main difference between the basic and the advanced version is that the advanced one offers more-in-depth technical analysis of digital currency value over time. At this time, the dashboard for the basic version offers several graphs and charts for the pairs that you’re trading, order books, and trade history.
3Commas This is what the basic view looks like :
Binance Trading View
The Basic view is nicely designed and well laid out, all the information you need is clearly presented with prices on the left, graphs in the center along with the buy and sell boxes and the trade history is presented on the right so you can quickly see what the latest trade prices were.
And this is what the advanced view looks like:
Advanced View
The advanced view uses a dark theme and makes the trading charts larger and the latest trade prices are displayed on the right with the buy sell boxes underneath.
Which you choose is a matter of preference really, I like the lighter colored basic view and find the layout a little easier to use.
Binance Signup & Login To use the exchange, users will first have to create an account. The process behind this is fairly simple and straight-forward and you don’t have to verify your account for level 1 which is a 2BTC daily withdrawal limit. For level 2 which allows up to 100BTC per day, you need to upload a photo ID and wait till you are approved. There are higher limits still, but you will need to contact them directly to arrange that.
Time for verification can vary depending on how busy the site support staff are, so make sure to plan ahead if you wish to withdraw larger amounts and make sure this step is complete before depositing and trading large sums on the exchange.
ID Verification
Now, that this is out of the way, users can go ahead and fund their Binance account. While you can choose from a multitude of digital currencies, it is recommended that you stick with either BTC or ETH.
To fund your account visit the “Funds” > “Deposits / Withdrawals” link at the top of the site and find the currency you wish to send, then click the “Deposit” button next to it which will then you give you the wallet address. You can then send your funds to this address to begin trading on the platform, depending on which currency you deposit it will take different times to show up as this is reliant on that currencies blockchain. Some currencies like Ethereum are faster than Bitcoin which can take a while.
Binance Wallets
Now that your account is funded, you can simply start trading, exchanging and investing in various digital currency pairs. Binance offers plenty of choices, as they support all major digital currencies, but also numerous ICO listings and their respective tokens.
At this time, the platform can only be used to generate limit and market orders. This has been considered a disadvantage by some, as many expected trading options that would be more advanced. Following the placement of your order, simply wait for it to be fulfilled according to the terms that have been set.
How to Trade on Binance Trading on Binance is fairly straight-forward if you have used any other cryptocurrency exchange before. To get started, make sure you have deposited some funds – there are options for trading pairs in BTC, ETH, BNB and USDT. Once you have your funds, at the top right menu, select “Exchange” > “Basic” or “Advanced” to load the trading screen. We will be using the Basic view.
Binance Trading View
On the right hand side, of the screen select a tab from BTC, ETH, BNB or USDT this is what you will be trading in. Then choose your desired currency from the list. You can also search here and you can create a favorites list by clicking the star next to any currencies.
Choose currency to buy
Once your desired currency has loaded, take note of the left-hand column which shows prices that people are willing to sell at in the top half in red and prices people are willing to buy at in green in the bottom half. The number in the middle shows the last sale price.
Buy and Sell Prices
Now to place a buy order, use the center box underneath the graphs and you will see the buy box is in green on the right. You can manually enter a price you wish to purchase at, but a better way is to click a number on the left-hand column. You can then enter the amount of the currency you wish to buy or click the 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% buttons which will fill it with an amount based on how much of the buying currency you have ( in this case BTC ).
Buy Order
Once your order is placed it will be show underneath in the “Open Orders” section until it is filled. At that point your new currency will be available under the “Deposits / Withdrawals” menu where you can withdraw it to the wallet of your choice.
Supported Crypto Currencies Binance has often been praised for its wide variety of support coins. Traders can use the platform for multiple digital currencies, including, but not limited to Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, EOS, Dash, LiteCoin, NEO, GAS, Zcash, Dash, Ripple and more. As mentioned before, Binance also supports numerous tokens, as part of ICO listings. With this in mind, traders can use the platform to trade these tokens for a profit as well.
Binance is currently very quick to add new coins and tokens after their ICO which usually means you can purchase them cheaply which allows for greater profit down the road.
They currently offer trading pairs in BTC, BNB, ETH and USDT.
Binance Markets
Binance ICO & BNB Coin Another thing to note is the Binance Coin, which was issued during their own ICO. The Binance coin can be used to pay fees and it will also feature in their future plans to create a Decentralized Exchange where it will form one of the key base currencies. Purchasing the Binance coin itself looks like a good investment for the future as the exchange plans to use their profits to buy back a portion of the coins every quarter and destroy them: hence decreasing the supply and making them more valuable for holders.
Every quarter, we will use 20% of our profits to buy back BNB and destroy them, until we buy 50% of all the BNB (100MM) back. All buy-back transactions will be announced on the blockchain. We eventually will destroy 100MM BNB, leaving 100MM BNB remaining.
Binance BNB Coin
If you’d like to read more about the BNB Coin, check out our indepth guide.
Binance Fees & Limits At the time of writing, Binance charges an average fee of 0.1% on each trade that a user makes. Those who choose to pay via the Binance token can get a 50% discount on the trading fee, which is absolutely great news. These are surely some of the lowest fees available at this time.
Withdrawal fees tend to vary for each digital currency. For instance, 0.0005 is charged for Bitcoin withdrawals, and 0.005 is charged for ETH withdrawals. Here are some examples to give you an idea of the fees you will be paying for withdrawals:
COIN CODE Fee Unit Binance Coin BNB 1 BNB Bitcoin BTC 0.001 BTC Ethereum ETH 0.01 ETH Litcoin LTC 0.01 LTC Neo NEO Free NEO Qtum QTUM 0.01 QTUM Status SNT 10 SNT Bancor BNT 1.2 BNT Eos EOS 0.7 EOS Bitcoin Cash BCC 0.0005 BCC Gas GAS Free GAS USDT USDT 50 USDT When it comes down to transfer limits, there is no limit on the number of coins that you can deposit. However, without getting verified, users are limited in terms of how much they can withdraw. Verification will establish you as a level two users, thus lifting these limits and providing a lot more freedom when using the platform. The verification process requires users to provide Binance with their full name, country, gender, a photo of passport/government-issued ID, and even a selfie with the passport.
Binance Competitions A unique feature of Binance you will notice is that they regularly hold competitions with some amazing prizes. Some examples of competitions in the past include Waves and Tron. The waves competition gave away 20,000 Waves to Traders based on how many trades they have made of this currency.
The other competition for Tron (TRX) gave participants the chance to win a Maserati car, Mercedes Benz car, a Macbook Pro or a iPhone X. Again, the winners were the people with the highest trading volume of this currency.
The current rankings show that the person in first place had over 358 BTC volume in trades so you will need to be a whale to be in with a chance of winning first prize. There are other regular competitions though, so keep an eye on the site for your chance to enter.
Is Binance Safe? While Binance is one of the newest cryptocurrency exchanges available on the market, it has quickly managed to attain a high level of trust from its users and the digital currency community. However, the exchange fails to provide users with enough information on how the funds are being secured, yet we like to believe that security is taken seriously. Two-factor authentication is available and is always a nice sight. It is however known that the platform offers a multi-tier and multi-tier system architecture.
Update: In March 2018 Binance suffered a hacking attempt.
The hackers tried to pull off an audacious move which was luckily caught by the automated systems in place at the exchange. For months the hackers had been accumulating people’s logins via a phishing website and secretly installing API access on the affected accounts. They then struck, converting all the victims altcoins to BTC and purchasing Viacoin, pumping the coin to a huge price and then selling their own supply of Viacoin at the high point, before trying to withdraw the BTC to their own wallets. Luckily no one lost funds as the hack was caught and the only people to lose out were the hackers, whose funds will be donated to charity.
As this hack was made possible by people entering their site logins and 2FA details into a fake website, you should always make sure you are on the correct Binance url before logging in. We recommend you bookmark the site and only use that to access it, never click links from emails, Twitter, Telegram etc.
This event has done a lot to instill confidence around Binance, not only did their automated processes catch the attempted hack before anyone lost any funds, they have since offered a $250,000 bounty to anyone who can help catch the hackers. Throughout this event, Binance acted exemplary and have been praised for their swift action in resolving this.
Binance Customer Support For an exchange to be successful, it requires a great customer support team, capable of answering all user questions and requests in a timely manner. While the support area on Binance could use a little work, the team is responsive and capable of offering professional aid to traders in need. Support tickets are submitted via an online form featured on the website, and responses are made via email. There is currently no live chat support, nor a phone number where customers can get in touch with the support team.
Binance Customer Support
Other than the CS team, Binance offers a couple of FAQs and articles meant to help users get accustomed to the exchange and the way it works.
Binance FAQs
It should be noted that customer support on Binance has been known to be slow to respond to customer requests. This is a familiar phenomenon with most of large exchanges and is due simply to the volume of users and amount of support staff. The exchanges have grown at an explosive rate this past year and the companies simply haven’t been able to keep up with demand. Binance grew fast especially, going from launch to the largest exchange on the planet in a few short months. Support staff for exchanges have to be carefully vetted and trained due to the technicalities and security requirements involved – unlike other traditional companies where staff can be trained quicker.
Some things to bare in mind are double-checking wallet addresses, make sure you are sending the correct cryptocurrency to it’s corresponding address on the site. Mixups with wallets are one of the biggest mistakes people make when using exchanges. Other things to note are, try a smaller test payment first if you plan to transfer large sums – it may cost you a little more in fees but will be worth it for peace of mind.
If you do need to contact support, make sure you provide them with enough information to be able to help you first time. Include wallet addresses, times of transactions and any other information you think they might need to help speed up the process.
The Move to Malta In March 2018, Japanese Newspaper Nikkei reported that Binance was trading in Japan and not following their official regulations. This caused some turbulence in the markets until Binance made an official announcement that they were going to be moving operations to the crypto-friendly island of Malta in Europe, stating :
After reviewing several different locations, the company decided to invest in the European nation due to its existing pro-blockchain legislation and the stability that it offers financial technology companies through its regulatory framework.
This is good news for the company and they even received a warm welcome from the Prime Minister of Malta on Twitter. Binance also announced that they were in talks with Maltese banks with the goal of providing Fiat transactions, meaning they can offer an on-ramp for fiat to crypto transactions in future along with fiat trading pairs on the exchange.
More good news for Binance, it seems as their profile and reputation within the industry continues to grow.
Launching a Decentralized Exchange More recent news for Binance and what seems like good news BNB holders is the fact that they are planning to launch their own Decentralized Exchange ( DEX ):
“After extensively researching decentralized exchange frameworks and analyzing existing implementations, we believe significant improvements can be made in providing Binance users with a level of trading experience to which they are already accustomed. Centralized and Decentralized exchanges will co-exist in the near future, complementing each other, while also having interdependence.”
The BNB digital asset, now an ERC-20 token, will migrate as the native token of that network and be used for paying the trading fees on the new exchange.
Launching a Decentralized Stock Exchange More good news recently for Binance is that they are partnering with Neufund to build the world’s first Decentralized Stock Exchange. Alongside the Malta Stock Exchange, they are aiming to create a regulated and decentralized, global stock exchange for listing and trading tokenized securities alongside crypto-assets.
According to CapLinked, the market cap of equity tokens alone is projected to reach $1 trillion by 2020 and thanks to the partnership with MSX, a subsidiary of the Malta Stock Exchange and Binance, Neufund will become the first end-to-end primary issuance platform for security tokens, in particular, equity tokens. It will secure ways for secondary trading of equity tokens and enable companies around the world to fundraise on Blockchain in a legal way while offering much-needed liquidity.
This is more positive news for Binance as they aim to consolidate their position as the world’s number one Crypto Exchange.
Binance Jersey Launch – Now Supports Fiat to Crypto As of 16th January 2019, Binance has announced the launch of a new Fiat to Crypto exchange named “Binance Jersey“. The trading platform is live and active and allows you to trade in fiat currencies such as euros and pound sterling, with Europe being their target market.
We have now carried out a full review of Binance Jersey, so take a look for more indepth details about the new platform.

Wei Zhou, Binance’s CFO released this statement about the launch :
“Expanding the cryptocurrency exchange markets with fiat currencies in the European region is opening new economic opportunities for Europeans as well as freedom from looming Brexit uncertainty where the pound and euro are also in concern. Through Binance Jersey, we want to help bridge the crypto-fiat channel for Europe and the U.K. as part of our global expansion to support broader cryptocurrency adoption”.
If you are familiar with trading on Binance, then you will feel at home on their new exchange – it uses the same engine and the trading screen is laid out in the same fashion with the option to choose between Basic and Advanced views:
Binance Jersey Trading Screen
To fund your account in fiat, you will first need to complete the KYC process, once that is done you can then deposit funds directly from your bank account by linking it from the Deposits screen. You can also fund your account with BTC or Ethereum. Once you have your account setup and bank account linked, you can also withdraw funds in fiat currency – this is great news as Binance is now able to offer a way for investors to cash out their cryptocurrencies.
We have upgraded our review scores below and we feel this is a huge improvement to Binance’s Exchange offering, if they manage to roll this out to even more countries ( USA is currently excluded) it could be a game changer as people now have an extra, regulated fiat on and off ramp for their holdings.
Buying Bitcoin with Australian Dollars On March 20, 2019, Binance announced the launch of Binance Lite Australia, the continent’s first fiat gateway to the world of cryptocurrencies which provides a secure, reliable, and easy to use way to buy Bitcoin with cash in Australia.
The cash-to-Bitcoin brokerage service operates via a network of over 1,000 newsagents across Australia, and currently allows anyone to buy Bitcoin using Australian Dollars (AUD), and there are plans to include additional digital currencies and fiat purchasing options in the future.
Users must first undergo account verification on Binance Lite, and after being successfully verified, users can place online orders and deposit cash at their nearest newsagent, in order to receive their pre-ordered Bitcoin.

Binance Launchpad and Initial Coin Offerings (IEOs) Binance Launchpad is the exchange’s token launch platform that aims to connect blockchain projects with the greater cryptocurrency community and enable projects to raise funds while interacting with Binance’s significant user base. In December 2017, the BREAD and GIFTO projects were able to hold successful token sales on Binance Launchpad and projects such as BitTorrent and Fetch.AI have also held successful launches in 2019. The platform makes use of the exchange’s native BNB token and rewards users for holding the token as well as allowing it to be used to participate in token sales.
Read: What is an IEO?
How Token Offerings Work on Binance Launchpad The ability to part in token offerings continues to attract a significant amount of users to Binance and it’s necessary to go through a number of steps in order to get used to the Launchpad platform. Anyone interested in a project should first go to the Binance Launchpad website and click on the project page and thoroughly research any of the projects on offer. If not already done, it’s also necessary to complete your Binance account verification, as token sales are carried out in compliance with the regulatory requirements in supported user jurisdictions.
The Lottery System Binance Launchpad operates a lottery system which sees that the number of lottery tickets you can claim being dependant on the amount of BNB tokens you hold in your Binance account over a 20-day period leading up to the day of the lottery, with a maximum of up to 5 tickets per eligible account.
The 20 days leading up to the lottery draw date is represented by X below, and by example, 100 ≤ X < 200 means that your BNB balance over the entire 20-day period is kept at 100 BNB or more, but does not exceed or reach 200 BNB.
A snapshot at 0:00 AM (UTC) each day records each user’s BNB balance, and should your BNB balance drop below the minimum balance required on any given day during the 20-day period, they will be put into the lower threshold. For example, if User A holds 301 BNB for 19 of the 20 days but their balance drops to 299 BNB on one day. They will move to the lower threshold and only be eligible to claim 2 lottery tickets.
Before the actual lottery date, users are given a 24 hour period to select how many lottery tickets they wish to enter, with the maximum number based upon their BNB holdings over the previous 20 days. Here, if a user submits an entry of 5 tickets and 2 tickets end up winning, they are committed to pay for 2 ticket allocations (in BNB) for the tokens.
Each lottery ticket has a unique number with multiple lottery ticket holders, obtaining tickets with consecutive numbers. For example, when claiming 5 tickets, the tickets may be numbered 100010, 100011, 100012, 100013 and 100014.
Once the 24 hour period ends and all tickets have been fully issued, Binance begins to randomly select multi-digit numbers. These are matched against the tail digits of all issued tickets in order to determine the list of winners. The selection process continues until the maximum number of winners are matched, and the respective BNB is deducted from each winning user’s balance, as soon as they are deemed a winner.
Binance announces the maximum number of potential lottery ticket winners, and the allocation amount corresponding to each winning ticket in advance.
Conclusion Currently, the matching engine of the exchange is capable of processing approximately 1.4 million orders each second, hence making it one of the fastest exchanges available on the market. Additionally, the exchange works on all forms of devices, including web, Android, WeChat, and HTML5. Non-English speakers will be happy to know that Binance offers multiple-language support in Chinese, English, Korean and Japanese.
Based on everything that has been outlined so far, Binance is undoubtedly the leading Cryptocurrency Exchange and offers great fees and awesome digital currency support. As it reportedly has access to abundant resources and partners, chances are that Binance will continue to evolve and offer great digital currency exchange services to its clients. We are happy to recommend Binance and have added it to our list of the Best Cryptocurrency Exchanges.
Update, April 2019: We have continued to update this review since Binance was first launched ( we were one of the first to offer a review of the platform at the time ). The value and utility of the SWM token, [email protected], product demo coming this week!

Welcome to your Swarm Fund Newsletter!
What a week.
Your Swarm team was in full effect. Some of us were in Las Vegas for CES. Others were penning informative and inspiring posts from our Czech office. Others were keeping the product and content engines running at our Palo Alto HQ. And our partner teams were continuing to crank on product in Ukraine & Australia. Oh and we launched a new website. The next three weeks promise to be just as jam packed with events, announcements, and product releases all on the way!
Product On Schedule
We now have alpha in hand and are testing features including:
We will be doing a live demo of the Swarm Platform this week in Miami at the North American Bitcoin Conference. Come see us at the show! Or stay tuned for updates on our social channels.
Buying and hodling SWM
The Swarm Token (SWM) is the essential element which powers the Swarm ecosystem. It was detailed in our white paper, and millions were purchased in our token sale. Sam Stone, with contributions from the entire Swarm team, put together a detailed blog post that lays it all down. SWM as Gas. SWM as Voice. SWM as Value. SWM is essential to every aspect of participation, governance, and incentive on the platform. SWM holders have utilized the token to govern the project since immediately after the token sale, and we are excited to share our detailed plan to build on that utility and value. Check it out on
Imagine Swarm
Keyboards were on fire this week in our Czech Republic office. As Sam was editing the above-mentioned Token post, his office mate Alexander Lieders shared his personal journey to Swarm, detailing what drew him to the project and where he sees it going. Take a read over on our blog.
Swarm in Vegas
In our last newsletter we detailed the schedule for Las Vegas, and it did not disappoint! There were so many great people and conversations at CoinAgenda and The Digital Money Forum.
A highlight was of course the Game of Coins panel on tuesday, where our CEO Philipp joined friends from Ripple, Overstock, Civic, and Bittrex in a rousing discussion moderated by the one and only Michael Terpin. From utility v. security to what gives a token value to 2018 predictions, it was a fun and informative panel to a standing room only crowd plus hundreds more on the live stream.
If you missed it, you can watch the panel in its entirety here:
Our New Website
As promised, our new website went live this past week as well. Same URL, same project, with new content areas and a new look & feel. We will grow the content over time, but are excited to share the new site with you all and would love feedback on what you'd like to see more of.

The OpenVisionZ Blog #11 Mr. Peter Panda the Bear Cat Gave Me Toxoplasmosis

The OpenVisionZ Blog #11 Mr. Peter Panda the Bear Cat Gave Me Taxoplasmosis

The OpenVisionZ Blog #11 Mr. Peter Panda the Bear Cat Gave Me Toxoplasmosis

his is just going to be a freestyle blog about the heroism resulting in the assisted rescue of Mr. Peter Panda Bear the Catsubsequently giving me Toxoplasmosis.

So I have a cat, the cats name is Mr. Peter Panda Bear the Cat he is a feral cat and has probably given me Toxoplasmosis. The Mr. Peter Panda Bear the Cat story starts with him being stuck about 60 feet up in a bulimic tree right outside of my window. Panda was crying like the little bitch, so I say that to give some audio perspective
Mr. Peter Panda Bear the Cat likes to sex up my feetsies and cuddle at night, the fucking my feet he probably derived from me, I like to give him a little tickle on the nuts once and a while and that usually gets him fired up, but not to digress I am going to explain why and what I did to adopt this little fucking bear cat and save him from the tree he was stuck in, and the reason why I think he has given me Toxoplasmosis and could be the first Professional Colombian Jiu-Jitsu Feline Champion of America
So the day starts off with smoking pot as usual, I started to hear a faint cat cry and then it got a bit louder, so I look out my window and what do you know there is a cat stuck in the tree next door and it's kinda wedged in a crux of the tree what I would would call the vagina of the tree branch, and this cat was crying like a little bitch, so I paid it no mind and carried on with my weed smoking and shut the window cause who gives a fuck that a cats in a tee they do that for birds and a panorama vista.
So a few hours went by and the crying was getting more annoying and more annoying and I decided to throw rocks at him...I'm kidding I didn't throw rocks, I threw feathers and cotton balls, I just went to sleep and figured he would be out of the tree in the morning. The next day comes and I wake up to this cat crying and meowing away and I figured he was probably doing that all night and I realized this little mother fucker was not only a bitch, he was a bitch stuck in a tree vagina who is too stupid to get down. 📷Cat Food Deals from Amazon📷📷I had no choice but to leave for work and I felt a little bad so I opened the window and yelled out "Hey you little bitch knock it off and get down from that bulimic vagina crux"
📷So the work day was over, I work nights, when I got home at 3:30 am I heard a faint meow and as I walked into my backyard the security light popped on and it made the little bitch panda start to meow louder and louder, I looked up into the tree and I looked at this cat who was stuck looking down at me meowing and I started to wonder how dumb was this animal?
So I said "you a lil bitch get your little bitch ass down here and meow like that to my face" and I went upstairs and went to sleep. So day 3 comes and this cat would not shut up all night, it was meowing like a maniac cat stuck in a tree all night. So I wake up light a joint and make a coffee and all I could hear was "meow meow mmmmeeeeowwwwww" it was getting very annoying, the fact that a cat was stuck in a tree was starting to become a bit sad. I opened my window and he was about 25-30 feet up from me, I live on the 3rd floor. So I look up and I see that he has birds tormenting him swooping down on him like little Japanese kamikaze planestrying to take out the enemy, it was like a scene from world war 2.
I started to feel bad because this little kitten of a cat being as much as a bitch as he was, was getting attacked by blue jays and has been stuck in a oak tree for the last 3 days and maybe more, no food no water and one day of rain and the weather was hot, and I know there must of been ants and insects biting him, he was probably getting all cramped up, he was just in a fucked up spot and stuck.
So as I watch these birds dive bomb this kitten I lit a joint, I started to yell out swing kitty swing at those bitch ass birds, swing and swipe, use your claws fuck those birds up, get one and eat it, I know your hungry get those little bitch birds with your claws, rip one out of the air, I wanted to see this cat snatch a bird out of the air like a scene from King Kong, but that didn't happen and the birds gave up, now this cat was just looking at me and he started to meow like a bitch, I felt bad because I knew he was hungry and probably scared, and by now I know that his parents can't help him, they were stray savage cats and were most likely scrounging dumpsters in the neighborhood somewhere or making cat sex in a dark ally or something.

Kitty Elevator

📷Kitty ElevatorI started to think of elaborate ways to get this cat out of the tree, I wanted to climb up and get him but I was not a monkey and it most likely would have ended with me falling and breaking most my body, then I thought maybe I could get a bucket and rope and throw it up in the tree and make like a little kitty elevator for him to climb into and get lowered down. That didn't go so well because he was dumb enough to get stuck in the tree which meant he was not smart enough to climb into a bucket and get lowered down. The problem was getting to be that he hasn't had food📷 or water in days, I was waiting for him to just fall out of the tree from exhaustion. I had to walk away because there was nothing I could do to get him down, I looked up at him and said "yo you little bitch you need to get out of that tree" he replied with "meow" and I went back inside my house and started to brain storm ideas and search online for animal rescue places.
I started to call every animal association possible the ASPCA, the local veterinarians, fire stations, PETA, everything I could think of that had anything to do with animals, and they all asked me if "I have ever seen a dead cat in a tree" and I said "no" and they said "he will get hungry and climb down sooner or later" but its been almost a week and he didn't look like he could make it down, the branch that he was stuck on was almost at a 90 degree angle, the way a cats claws📷 are shaped he would have had to back down and he was not smart enough to do that, so being a little kitten who's parents abandoned him to go have sex in dumpsters, he had no one to help him.
I was in a pickle so was this bitch of a bear cat. I had a eureka moment, I could call a tree company and maybe they could come climb the tree grab him and bring him down. I started to call local arborists and I got a hold of this guy "Peach Tree Paul" who said he would come and get him down for $100, and I agreed to the price. "Peach Tree Paul" the tree conqueror arrived with a toy mouse on a string and began to throw it up in the tree trying to get this cat to chase the toy mouse down the tree, the cat got frightened and went about another twenty feet up into the tree.

Toxoplasmosis Gives You Courage!

📷Panda Bear the Cat"Peach Tree Paul" said fuck it time to climb, he broke out the harness and ropes and his little pouch to put the cat in, I believe he called it his pussy pouch, he started to climb the tree but the cat got frightened and climbed to the bulimic part of the tree, this dumb bitch of a cat climbed to where the branches were weak and skinny, the part of the tree that threw up instead of bloom, which made the rescue even more heroic, if "Peach Tree Paul" couldn't rely on the branches to hold his weight, he could not hook the ropes up.
"Peach Tree Paul" was not going to sacrifice himself and risk falling, but long story short he climbed up grabbed the cat and stuffed him in the pussy pouch and threw the pouch down, just kidding, he climbed down with the pussy pouch and asked me what I wanted to do with this pouch of pussy cat, either let him go, eat him, or keep him? I decided to keep the little bitch of a cat and named him the infamous Mr. Peter Panda Bear the Cat.
📷Cat Food Deals from Amazon📷So now this is where the Toxoplasmosis comes in and where the fun of having a new pet gets scary because about a month after having this stray bear pretending to be a cat. I started to develop a twitch and a craving for soccer, I started to wonder if my car could reach a 100 miles a hour on the straight away near the play ground for underdeveloped Mexican kids, all of a sudden I discovered I was a incredible soccer player, and I just wanted to play soccer and ride a motorcycles at the same time while blind folded, I started to crave sex with anything, rocks, sandpaper, stereo receivers, weed bongs, I stuck my hand in a bee hive and commenced to slapping white woman with arm tattoos, I started to teach Mr. Peter Panda Bear the Cat some Columbian jiu-jitsu the kind they teach to under privileged children in Bogota and rolled with him on a bed of thumbtacks, I had cravings to swallow rusty razors and wash them down with orange soda, and the most dangerous casual activity I couldn't get enough of was, I wondered about how many attempts it would take to achieve a victory in a wrestling match with a homeless methed up black man. Every Friday morning me and my training partner Mr. Peter Panda Bear the Cat would head down to the 7/11 and do classic wrestling taunts at the loiterers lingering by the dumpster. The Toxoplasmosis does not impede me from having a great pet panda bear cat and if you can save a animal from any situation that is not ideal for it, then do it! Do what you can and save these furry fuckers from the cages the pounds and animal control police keep them in, these scummy people who claim to love animals and answer telephones for a living, do not give a shit about saving the animals they just like to act sympathetic towards them, and most importantly don't tickle a feral cats nuts unless you want it to commit sexual acts with your toes at night.

Crypto Safety Education Series #4: Combat phishing scams - How social media scams works and how to avoid them

Note: this is the fourth part of an ongoing crypto safety educational series. Other parts of the series are
part 1 of the series to understand how domain works.
part 2 of the series on how to identify and avoid ads phishing scams
part 3 of the series on how to identify and avoid email phishing scams
Yep, crypto social media phishing, especially twitter phishing scams, are out of control. Browse Ethereum co-founder Vitalik’s twitter profile or Binance’s CEO Changpeng’s twitter profile you will see they have been the target of so many twitter impersonators that they literally have to update their names to Vitalik "Not giving away ETH" Buterin and CZ (not giving crypto away).
Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey have admitted to the problem and said that the team are implementing measures to prevent crypto scams.
Whether or not Twitter’s solution will work is yet to be seen. But meanwhile we can always equip ourselves with the best weapon - knowledge.
Some of the most popular social media scams go beyond standard phishing scam practices. According to our research and analysis, we have identified 4 main ways scammers use social media to defraud users: Impersonation, Ponzi/HYIP and ICO scam promotion, Malware distribution, and Chatroom scams. Below we will briefly walk through how each one works.
1. Impersonation of Established Company or Person
This is SO extremely common for any established crypto-related companies or figures that you can find a dozen of imposters just by clicking through replies of most established companies or person’s any single tweet.
Coinbase pinned this tweet that provides a perfect example of how twitter scams works. Imposters will commonly post tweets that they are giving away free coins in exchange for a small deposit.
They will then use hundreds of bots account to post fake claims that they have send money and indeed received free coins in return. *THEY ARE 100% FAKE.
When Binance was down due to maintenance this past Feb, scammers went all out. One of the Binance twitter imposter collected over $10,000 in matter of hours in its ether wallet.
4 signs for fake twitter profile. If a twitter profile meet all 4 below points, it is a fake profile pretending to be someone they are not.
Account name is the same as a popular cryptocurrency exchange, wallet, news or public figure, but twitter handle contains misspelling. Account has a low number of followers (< 1k) Account has a short account history (within the last couple months or days) Account lacks a verified badge
2. Ponzi/HYIP and ICO scams Promotion
Do you want to become rich overnight and earn 100x returns on your investment within months?
Hard to say no to that, right?
That is how many Ponzi, High Yield Investment Programs and ICO scams attract investors’ attention - by promising no risk and ludicrous investment returns in an extremely short amount of time.
Cryptocurrency holders are risk takers who have high-risk tolerance since one would need a strong stomach to weather through the crypto market swings. That is also the exact reason scammers identify crypto investors as the perfect target for investment scams.
Scammers will use social media, often offering promoters referral perks as incentives, to spread links to their websites that promise high investment returns.
These types of promotional messages can spread like wildfire on social media since platforms like Twitter and Facebook make sharing easy with a click of a button. Many people are drawn to the potential referral earnings and end up spreading malicious links.
It’s easy to avoid getting caught in this type of scam on social media - don’t be greedy. No one will give you way above market average returns with no substantial risks involved.
If something looks too good to be true, it probably is.
3. Malware Distribution
Embedding viruses and malware into popular downloads is an old and common hacking technique. Crypto scammers certainly do not miss out on this proven method to steal coins.
Scammers distribute malware through mining software that claims it will help you to make money during your sleep or through desktop wallets that can “safely store” your crypto assets. Once you download the software, it will unpack malware that can steal all sorts of information from your computer, including your wallet’s private key.
Look at this one example of just how much malware were contained in one downloadable mining software reported on ZeroFox.
Screenshot 1
Screenshot 2
4. Send Scams Through Chatroom Messages
There are few ways one can be deceived through chat services. Some chat services, such as Slack, allow users to share the same display names, which can cause confusion and make it difficult to tell the impersonator apart from the crowd.
Many messaging services also use standard formatting for chat messages, which allows a user to embed a different URL in a messaged link that is different than the text displayed.
For example, in a case reported on International Business Times, a slack user warned another group member of an attack on MyEtherWallet to distribute a phishing link, shown in this screenshot.
If you click on the link that looks to be the official URL for MyEtherWallet, you will be redirected to a phishing site aimed to steal your credentials.
How to avoid chat room scams? Do not trust easily, and always verify the information from other popular sources. Scammers love to use FUD tactics to mislead innocent investors.
Here at Crypto Aware, we have recently compiled a list of official URLs and social media profiles of popular cryptocurrency exchanges and cryptocurrency wallets.
P.S If you are the victim of a cryptocurrency social media phishing scam, please report your case to us here. Here at Crypto Aware we are establishing the First Responder Network for crypto-related scams. Your reports will remain anonymous, we will relate your report to related platforms if necessary and will relate them to the crypto communities here at Reddit and elsewhere.

There is a gas station, in Prague, Czech Republic, where you can pay with bitcoin.

Google-translated interview with the station owner: Link
Gas station web page: Link
Interview excerpt:
And why bitcoin and gas station? The one-word answer would be: competition. There is an enormous number of petrol stations in Prague and the Czech Republic. One thing is a competitive advantage, the price we try to keep in the best numbers. But we wanted to offer people something extra. We do not have a perfect place on the highway or on the main street, so we've been wondering how to attract people. After my state exam, last summer I started to deal with cryptocurrencies. I myself felt the boom when business people began to talk more about bitcoin. Almost everybody knew there was some bitcoin here, but he did not get into the mainstream until last year.
I started trading classically with bitcoin first, and my friends were very good at the beginning. I've been looking for a lot of information in the media and on various information servers. That's how I got to know that bitcoin has great potential. From cryptos, it is currently the most liquid currency and you can buy something for it. When I told my parents at home, they asked me if I bought bread for bitcoin. Not at the moment, but I still went ahead with the project. We are the only petrol station in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and perhaps even in Central Europe, where bitcoins can also be used.

Getting started using minerd, have some questions/concerns

I don't know if this is the right place since I got more results in litecoinmining. I'm getting started and just want to see what I can get, not doing this stuf seriously right now. I'm using my CPU to mind and it's an Intel Core i5. I'm using minerd and have it setup as the following:
C:\Users\Username\Desktop\cpuminer>minerd --url=stratum+tcp:// --userpass=myusername.myworker:workerpassword
It seems to connect and this is my output: [2014-07-04 12:32:28] Starting Stratum on stratum+tcp://

My first concern is all the booos. I've read it means someone got to that first and so I can't work it? Is that true and if so how can I get one that no one has worked yet?

Can't connect.

I now have 3 AMD GPUs. An old 5850, a 380, and a 290. I know GPU mining is barely profitable, but I have pretty cheap power deep in south TX, a very efficient PSU, and nothing to do with this hardware.
Having some trouble connecting with sgminer, which I built myself from github repo using visual studio (BTW: have there been any attempts at a Thompson Hack?). I haven't tried any other pools yet, I'm a BTC newb but I remember years ago Slushes pool was around, and I figured I'd go to the oldest/biggest pool to get started with, see how it goes, for a month and see if it's profitable. Anyway, here is the error I'm getting.

Here is my slushpool.conf file

And my slushpool.bat file

PS: device0 is my 380, I know it's not optomized for my 380 but i'm not there yet.
